Description

Explore the art of cake decorating! Discover the techniques for icing and smoothing, filling and adorning cakes and cupcakes, creating various borders, mastering writing and printing, crafting drop flowers, ribbon roses, rosebuds, ruffle flowers, sunflowers, daisies, leaves, and grass. Additionally, learn the skill of pattern transfer. A list of supplies will be shared before the class commences (and can also be found in the course description online). This class is limited to twelve (12) participants.

 

Supply List for Buttercream Basics:

  • 6 (six) unfrosted cupcakes and a container to carry them
  • A one-pound tub of white Wilton buttercream (or other) frosting
  • One package of 4 or more gel food colors
  • One cup Confection's (Powdered) sugar     
  • Two each decorating tips # 1, 3, 12, 16, 18, 21 and 104       
  • One each decorating tips # 352, 233, 1M, 2D and 230
  • One pkg standard size plastic couplers
  • One 1.5 inch flower nail, metal or plastic      
  • Two 9 inch metal spatulas (straight)
  • One package 12 inch disposable plastic decorating bags
  • One small food-safe brush     
  • Paper towels and a damp cloth for cleanup
  • A plastic bag for used equipment & trash
  • Several cups or bowls to mix colors
  • A small scissors          
  • A pkg of toothpicks
  • A spoon
  • A small bottle of water or a squeeze bottle    
  • An apron
  • Pen or pencil and small notebook
Note:  You may find a Wilton Course one kit on Amazon.com which contains much of these listed supplies.

Additional Notes

This class will be held in room 123.

Enrichment Class Students may find it more convenient to park in lot A, situated on the north side of the school, directly in front of the Agricultural Science & Technology Education (ASTE) building, for ease of access.

Cancellations & Refund Policy:

  • Vernon Regional Adult Based and Continuing Education reserves the right to make necessary changes, including limiting course enrollment or canceling courses due to insufficient enrollment. If a course is canceled for this reason, registered students will be notified and fully refunded.  

  • Class sessions may be rescheduled due to unforeseen school closures, COVID-related issues, inclement weather, or teacher absences. Refunds or credits will not be provided to students who are unable to attend rescheduled make-up classes.

  • Students assume all risk of changes in their personal schedules. Absence from the class does not reduce the cost of operating our programs, therefore there is no prorating of cost. For this reason student absence does not result in a refund, tuition credit or make-up session.
