Description

If you are interested in investing but not sure where to start, this class is an excellent way to get started. In this class you will learn: What is a stock? What is an Exchange Traded Fund (ETF)? What is a Mutual Fund? You will learn the basics of how to read financial statements, analyze a business using Warren Buffett’s criteria of a great business, and know when a stock is cheap or expensive. You will learn about dividends, dividend yields, and how to know if the dividend is safe. We will review one of Warren Buffett’s stock purchases to see how he analyzes a company. There are a lot of free resources to research companies and generate investing ideas. Learn Warren Buffett and Ray Dalio’s investing strategies and how to implement them. This class also includes a demo of TD Ameritrade’s Think or Swim platform. You will get the most out of the class if you open a paper money account with TD Ameritrade (you don’t need to fund the account), download the Think or Swim platform prior to class and follow along on your computer. You will learn how adjust the settings in Think or Swim, create a watchlist, open and close a trade, and much more.  Enrollment will be limited to 10 (ten) students.  There are no discounts available for this class.
