Description
Did you know that the first real detective story was actually written by an American and one of the most unusual "criminals" was a big ape? All will be revealed when Rima Riedel takes you on a fast, fun romp through the "History of Mystery from the first Detective story through contemporary times. During this entertaining and informative interactive workshop you will learn about famous, infamous and not so famous characters. You will also be introduced to "red herrings" as well as the various mystery genres. A long-time mystery buff, Rima Riedel is a Manchester area author, who has had various stories and essays published in Scholastic Scope and Level Best Books' latest anthology, Noir at the Salad Bar and most recently, Mystery Magazine. In 2021, Rima launched the first book in her Belly Dancing Boomer series. She is currently finishing work on the first book in her second series, Poetic Justice: The Poe Files, due out shortly. It is about Edgar Allan Poe helping Baltimore detectives solve Poe copycat murders in 21st century Baltimore
