Description

Experience the swift advancements in smartphone camera technology. These devices now emerge as credible substitutes for hefty SLR cameras, liberating enthusiasts from the burden of carrying excess gear in pursuit of the perfect shot. Tailored for those committed to achieving stellar images with their smartphone cameras, this course advocates a shift away from the confines of Auto Mode, encouraging the embrace of Manual or Shutter Priority modes for heightened control and improved image quality. In this course, we will cover:

• Learning how to use the camera controls on your specific smartphone.
• Basic photographic theory.
• The process of installing other smartphone camera apps.
• Specific steps to follow when taking a picture.
• Useful accessories for your smartphone camera.
• How to compose your photographs to produce truly wonderful results.

Throughout the course, participants will actively engage with their smartphone cameras, receiving constructive feedback to enhance both technical proficiency and compositional skills. A detailed handout will be provided, serving as a valuable reference during and after the class. Ensure you come prepared with a fully charged cell phone and relevant accessories, including a battery charger. Elevate your smartphone photography prowess with us! It's important to note that this class does not cover selfies. Rather, it delves deep into the essential knowledge required for capturing exceptional smartphone pictures
Please bring your fully charged cell phone and any accessories you may have including a battery charger. A $5.00 material fee is due directly to the instructor the first night of class. Please bring cash to cover this expense.
Stay tuned for updates from the instructor throughout the course, including the possibility of an optional session added at the end for a special on-location shoot, available for an additional fee. Location and date to be determined.

Cancellations & Refund Policy:

  • Vernon Regional Adult Based and Continuing Education reserves the right to make necessary changes, including limiting course enrollment or canceling courses due to insufficient enrollment. If a course is canceled for this reason, registered students will be notified and fully refunded.  

  • Class sessions may be rescheduled due to unforeseen school closures, COVID-related issues, inclement weather, or teacher absences. Refunds or credits will not be provided to students who are unable to attend rescheduled make-up classes.

  • Students assume all risk of changes in their personal schedules. Absence from the class does not reduce the cost of operating our programs, therefore there is no prorating of cost. For this reason student absence does not result in a refund, tuition credit or make-up session.
